 Global Ministry Partners

Bill Young - Executive Director of Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship (PFF)
Bill's work with PFF focuses in several areas. He spends part of his time directing and providing vision for PFF and its staff, equipping and enabling them to spread the frontier mission vision and help churches engage in it. He also serves as the focal point in keeping frontier mission a priority within the PC(USA) mission structures. At the same time Bill connects with churches in much the same way as the other staff, albeit on a smaller scale. In the International Evangelism office Bill supervised the frontier mission program of the PC(USA), so he has a good overview of the whole program.

Susie Frerichs - Mexico
Susie Frerichs has been under appointment as a mission worker with the PC(USA) since 1994. After serving for 12 years as U.S. coordinator for Proyecto Amistad on the U.S.-Mexico border, in December 2006 Susie took up a new assignment in the mountains of central-east Mexico, working with the rural, Náhuatl-speaking Presbytery of the Huastecas of the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico (INPM) among whom she serves as an itinerant preacher and teacher.

In her ministry, she assists the presbytery's 13 churches in whatever way she is asked. She coordinates mission partnerships between the presbytery and congregations in the United States and other parts of Mexico, supports the ministry of women's and youth groups, and teaches courses at the presbytery's Bible institute.

Susie understands her call is to live in Christ among our brothers and sisters of the Huastecas and encourage them toward an ever-deepening walk with Jesus Christ. Click here to learn more about Susie and view her newsletters.

Nour and Carolyn Sirker - Nicaragua
Nine years ago the Nour & Carolyn Sirker started working with Clinica AMEN which at that time was a clinic associated with their Nicaraguan church.  At that time it only operated part time but with the help of workcamps, the facilities and staff have been enlarged to include a full time general practicioner, pediatrician, OB-GYN, laboratory, pharmacy and dentist.  Nour acts as director of this clinic as well as director of the emergency department at Baptist Hospital. Also with the help of workcamps, a Christian school has been built in a barrio called Santa Rosa.  The Sirkers supervise the running of the school as well as the sponsorship program for 240 children.

In April 1998 the medical part of the ministry grew to include a dispensary which operates half time in the barrio of Nejapa.  Ground was broken in March 2002 for the beginning of the Hospital El Samaritano.

The Sirkers have the opportunity of working with EE at their church as well as discipleship groups for the people who have accepted the Lord.  Nour teaches adult Sunday School and we both teach Children's Sunday School in Santa Rosa.

Nour has also had the privilege of starting Mens Groups based on Promise Keepers and he is also involved in leading men's Bible studies.

Moises & Milda Colops - Guatemala
Emanuel Presbyterian Church of Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala was founded in approximately 1950. It was closed for an 8-yr period until the Presbytery reopened it when Moises Colop became the pastor in 1987.

The church has a compassionate ministry of outreach to the community: feeding the homeless, distributing relief aid, visiting the sick, assisting other churches with needs, and conducting programs for women's issues.

Pastor Moises' wife, Milda Colop, started a job-training program in the church kitchen for women to learn how to cook nutritious food. The church kitchen needed major renovation to begin the program. With the support of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, the kitchen was equipped with a new roof and ceiling, lighting, range, refrigerator, sink, cabinets, and utensils.

Through World Vision, WHPC is partnering with a community in Zambia called Mbala. World Vision’s prayer is that every child, in every country, will experience the fullness of life that Jesus describes in John 10:10. Together with World Vision, we will help provide the poverty-stricken community of Mbala with the resources that children and families need to survive. As we help communities gain access to life essentials like clean water, nutritious food, and health care, we empower the people there to step confidently into a future of health and self-reliance.  Click here to read more about this effort.
