The Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church Foundation is a special fund that provides permanent support for the mission and ministry of our church. Separate from the annual operating budget, this fund is a way to receive permanent gifts and manage those assets in a prudent and safe fashion.

All distributions from the foundation will be a clear reflection of the values, generosity and needs of the membership of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, enhancing the work of God’s people and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

Your generous donation to the Foundation is perpetual, meaning that your gifts will continue to work for the kingdom of God forever. The legacy you give will influence God’s work in the future. Our opportunity for outreach will continue to grow as our church expands.

All information regarding gifts to the foundation will be held in confidence unless you indicate otherwise, and a member of the endowment board can visit with you to help with your particular situation. Simply call a member of the Board of Trustees or the church office at (512) 327-1116.

Our Vision

Our act of gratitude to God is to give out of our abundance to the ministry of his church.  We are thankful for WHPC members who have contributed to a permanent fund, the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church Foundation, in an effort to give back to our world and the community.

The fund provides support to:

  • Hospitals and schools in developing areas of the world
  • Pastors, seminary students or other teachers spreading God's word
  • The physical facilities of WHPC
  • Local ministries and outreach programs

Grant Recipients in 2009

  • WHPC Seminiary Students - three members of our own church who attend Austin Theological Seminary received grants to help them pay for tuition, fees and the purchase of books.
  • Justo Mwale Seminary Students - the Foundation supported three seminarians in Zambia with a grant for tuition and books.
  • Fundacion el Samaritano Ambulatory Surgery Center - A grant provided surgery equipment for this center in Managua, Nicaragua.
  • Nicaraguan Theological Institute - the Foundation provided money to train pastors in Nicaragua who are working on their three-year diplomas or the four-year baccalureate program.
  • Casa Esperanza - a grant provided support and shelter to women in Nicaragua seeking a new life after working in the sex trade.

A story about one of the past recipients:

InstitutoTeológicoNicaragüense (ITN) in Managua was founded three years ago by IglesiaTabernáculoEvangélicoto provide Nicaraguan pastors and lay leaders with a firm grounding in the Gospel. Those who are called to preach and lead often have limited education and resources. The education provided by ITN is critical to enable them to better serve their congregations and proclaim the Gospel.

Graduation ceremonies for 2008 were held December 14. Three students graduated from the 3 year program with a Diploma on Biblical Studies and eleven from the night Bible Courses. Plans for next year include a fourth year of study leading to a Bachelors Degree in Ministry. MovimientoMisioneroTransculturalNicaragüenseis an outreach program of ITN whose main goal is to motivate and prepare Nicaraguan missionaries to go to unreached countries.

As most pastors and lay leaders in Nicaragua must work at other jobs for meager wages, registration fees are far less than operating expenses for ITN. IglesiaTabernáculoEvangélico, Fundacion el Samaritano, and the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church Foundation provide much needed support.
