What is mission?
As Christians, we are called to witness to God’s love and grace in our local community and around the world. Whenever we pray for our neighbors, share the gospel in our words and actions, serve those in need, or simply live by the kingdom values of justice, love, and peace, we are engaged in mission.
WHPC is committed to mission that is open, attentive, and compassionate toward all. We seek to forge strong relationships both locally and globally, and to collaborate in ministry whenever we can. Most of all, we seek to love others well, with gratitude for the grace we have received in Christ.
Here’s how you can join in. Get Involved.
Emergency Relief for the Border – You can help!
The Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, TX supplies the basic needs of refugees who have been released from detention and permitted to remain in the U.S. for now. With high numbers of people coming, the center is running out of basic supplies like clothing, travel toiletries, socks, underwear, diapers and wipes. You can help by using this Amazon wish list to send items directly to the respite center, or by bringing any of these items to the bins outside the church office before Sunday, April 14.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes: Truck Runs and Make Ready Shifts
Registration is open for WHPC’s monthly make-ready and truck-run shifts. Make-ready shifts start at 4:00 p.m. and trucks leave at 5:00 p.m. from St. John Neumann.
One Great Hour of Sharing
Palm Sunday, April 14
Join us in this special offering of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) that provides relief to those affected by natural disasters, gives food to the hungry, and helps to empower the poor and oppressed. This Sunday, you will be able to give in person, online, or by text. Children will be able to bring their fishy banks forward during the 10:30 service as well.
