What is mission?
As Christians, we are called to witness to God’s love and grace in our local community and around the world. Whenever we pray for our neighbors, share the gospel in our words and actions, serve those in need, or simply live by the kingdom values of justice, love, and peace, we are engaged in mission.
WHPC is committed to mission that is open, attentive, and compassionate toward all. We seek to forge strong relationships both locally and globally, and to collaborate in ministry whenever we can. Most of all, we seek to love others well, with gratitude for the grace we have received in Christ.
Here’s how you can join in. Get Involved.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes: Registration is open!
Registration is now open for WHPC’s monthly make-ready and truck-run shifts, scheduled to start in October and continue on the second Sunday of every month. Make-ready shifts start at 4:00 p.m. and trucks leave at 5:00 p.m. from St. John Neumann.
Prepare a Place
Return your items by december 23
WHPC is introducing a new mission project for Advent. In partnership with the Foundation for the Homeless, we will be putting together move-in kits for local families transitioning from homelessness into housing. Stop by the parlor, pick an item off the tree, and bring it back by December 23. Together, we can share a tangible expression of the love and welcome of Christ.
Christmas Eve Offering 2018
Mobile Loaves and Fishes will be the recipient of this year’s offering, which will be used to buy a new food truck for their ministry. The new truck will replace the oldest in the fleet at our local commissary and make it possible for volunteers to go on hundreds of runs and serve over 20,000 meals each year. Over the next few weeks, all are encouraged to prayerfully discern your participation in this offering and to give generously on Christmas Eve, during worship or online at whpc.org.
