WHPC has partnered with 6 Afghan refugee families (50 people) who were relocated to Austin, TX. This ministry provides immense support to these families as they learn English and learn how to flourish in their new community. We are committed to walking alongside them until they are able to be completely independent. Though this ministry started out of WHPC, it truly has become a community project, soliciting the help of over 100 volunteers from the Westlake community.
Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary is a Presbyterian seminary in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1902 to provide pastors for the rapidly growing Presbyterian Church in the frontier Southwest. Today, APTS is a vibrant community where dynamic learners and leaders from diverse Christian traditions are moved to connect with their calling, challenge their assumptions, and change the world as they become confidently equipped for Christian ministry and service.
Austin Samaritans, based in Austin, TX seeks to glorify God by connecting resources and needs to transform lives. Austin Samaritans is working together with our mission associates to benefit the people of Nicaragua in education, outreach, support and discipleship.
Austin Young Lives supports pregnant and parenting teens on their young journey of motherhood through community, mentorship and a life with Christ. YoungLives clubs are regular gatherings with parenting teenagers and mentors with the support of childcare workers and various community help. Clubs meet around the world offering fun, laughter, encouragement and an inspirational message. Other YoungLives activities may include Bible study, group outings and life skill instruction.
Since 1941, Young Life leaders have walked with middle and high school students and earned the right to be heard in an exhausting and exciting world. Caring leaders meet students where they are, building relationships that bring hope and vision. Leaders are supported by caring adults in the community who provide direction, support, prayer and encouragement.
Chariot volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide seniors door-to-door rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, hair appointments, pharmacies, banks, activity centers, support groups, and other errands. Typically a round trip takes 2-3 hours; a one-way drop off is about an hour.
FCA Austin exists to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA believes that our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and his word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.
Foundation for the Homeless provides rapid re-housing through our Family Stability program for families with minor children experiencing homelessness.
The Feed My People Program is the founding program for Foundation for the Homeless, open to anyone experiencing homelessness and poverty. This long-standing program is a partnership of 15 religious congregations in the Austin Community. Together we provide a filling, hot breakfast along with other services including showers, AA meetings, a clothing closet (Thursday only), showers, and haircuts (every other Thursday), bus passes and laundry vouchers.
Plus One provides utility assistance for Austin Energy Customers who are in need of assistance in paying outstanding Austin Energy bills.
A bridge of hope from prison to new life. The God of Hope ministries provide Christian care and discipleship to men and women incarcerated in Austin and the central Texas area.
The mission of Manos de Cristo is to empower low-income individuals with a loving hand of assistance and without regard to age, gender, race, or religious preference. Manos de Cristo promotes dignity and self-reliance by meeting basic needs with food and clothing, providing essential oral care, and furthering educational development.
Memory Caregiver Academy of Austin (MCAAustin) strives to identify, expertly train, and send out women and men graduating from high school to be qualified, competent, and compassionate caregivers for elderly people with dementia, helping them to age in place.
Additionally, MCAAustin intends to improve the quality of services to people with dementia living in Austin, especially in low income and underserved areas of town. People living in these areas are a first priority, primarily those who are trying to stay in their own homes.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) is a social outreach ministry that has been empowering communities into a lifestyle of service with the homeless since 1998.
Care and Support for families and children in need. PCHAS offers a variety of residential- and community-based programs across three states, along with initiatives to empower churches to support foster care families. PCHAS has three areas of focus; helping Children, strengthening families and building community.
WHPC provides annual opportunities for middle and high school students to participate in local and global mission experiences.
Students are also welcomed to participate in our local mission projects including food preparation and truck runs with Mobile Loaves and Fishes (LINK), feeding the unhoused with Foundation for the Homeless (LINK), helping prepare Blue Bags for Manos de Christo and more!
GLOBAL PARTNERS
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crises and catastrophic events.
WHPC has strong connections to ministries and churches in Liberia and Zambia. In these countries, our support helps to train Christian ministers as well as to strengthen congregations that have had to face crises like the AIDS epidemic, civil war, and poverty.
In 2015, a portion of our Christmas Eve Offering went toward construction of the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Prayer House in Lusaka, Zambia.

Missionaries and organizations supported by WHPC in France, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and more engage in various ministries particular to their contexts. Some partners have evangelism as their primary work, doing things like planting new churches or translating the Bible into the first language of the people they serve. Others provide access to critical community needs like education and clean water. Members of WHPC regularly correspond with and pray for our partners to keep these relationships strong across great distances.
In 2017, a portion of WHPC’s Christmas Eve Offering went toward medical and educational supplies for our partner in Afghanistan.

For over a decade, WHPC has actively supported and volunteered with ministries in Mexico and Nicaragua. In partnership with missionaries, pastors, and Christian organizations in these countries, WHPC helps to feed and educate children living in extreme poverty and to give families a pathway toward economic self-sufficiency through micro-loans.
In 2017, a portion of WHPC’s Christmas Eve Offering went to AMO, a Christian after-school program in Patzcuaro, Mexico. The year before, part of the annual offering helped to build a security wall for Colegio Cristiano Presbiteriano, a longtime partner in Nicaragua.
