Sewing for Afghan Families

Our Afghan mothers are busy ladies. They have lots of children and many responsibilities. However, they have not been provided an opportunity to earn money to help support their families until now. WHPC is opening a way to include our women in helping with family finances by creating beautiful, unique crafts and sewing items to sell. If you have any skills in sewing or would just like to participate in this new adventure, please join us!

Afghan Refugee Ministry

WHPC has partnered with 6 Afghan refugee families (50 people) who were relocated to Austin, TX. This ministry provides immense support to these families as they learn English and learn how to flourish in their new community. We are committed to walking alongside them until they are able to be completely independent. Though this ministry started out of WHPC, it truly has become a community project, soliciting the help of over 100 volunteers from the Westlake community.
