Mission Spotlight: Helping Families Imagine a Better Way Forward - Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services
On Sunday, June 14th, we welcomed James Lavender from Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) as our Mission Spotlight guest.
More than 120 years ago, a local Presbyterian church responded to the needs of one mother facing an impossible situation. That faithful act of compassion grew into a ministry that now serves more than 5,000 children and families each year across Texas, Louisiana, and Missouri.
At PCHAS, every child is seen as a beloved child of God, and every family is offered hope, practical support, and the opportunity to imagine a better way forward. Through family-centered care, counseling, and community support, lives are being transformed every day.
During worship, we heard stories of hope, learned how PCHAS is preparing hundreds of children across Central Texas for a successful school year, and discovered ways we can continue partnering in this important ministry through prayer, service, and generosity. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate how God is at work through this long-standing ministry partner and consider how each of us can help build a world where every child is safe, every family is strong, and hope outshines hardship.
