We are delighted to welcome WHPC member, Dian Hansen as our Speaker! Dian has been a member of WHPC since 2000, sharing her gifts through choir, handbells, the Evening Book Club, the Prayer Shawl ministry, numerous Bible studies, and by serving faithfully as an Elder. She will share her faith journey—how she wrestled with and questioned her faith for many years, and how God’s grace continued to shape her life, ultimately leading her back to a deeper and more profound faith. Dian will also reflect on her recent health crisis, a season in which she experienced God’s amazing and unending love in a deeply personal way. Nancy's journey from Colorado Springs to Austin in 1985, following Mike's transition from Young Life to become the youth minister at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church (WHPC), is a testament to faith and adaptability. Arriving with two toddlers and leaving behind a supportive community, the move was initially challenging. Yet, four decades later, their commitment to WHPC has remained steadfast, leading to the blessing of four children and eight Texas-born grandchildren. Nancy eagerly anticipates sharing the ways God has guided her life journey.

Rev. Dr. Britta Martin Dukes received her MDiv and DMin degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and served at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian in Austin for 17 years. She is happily married to Glenn (who she happened to meet here at WHPC!) and they parent two young adults, both seniors graduating in May 2025 (Caleb with an MFA from Pace University in NYC and Atalie from Westlake High).

Join us for a fun evening designed to build relationships, and share stories, among the single women at WHPC. We will be serving appetizers, soup and dessert. Cindy will teach us to play Bunco. Come celebrate our 150th year anniversary with your church family, past and present. On Sunday, November 10 at 11 am we will begin with a special worship service followed by a traditional southern luncheon. The Blanton is one of the foremost university art museums in the country and the largest and most comprehensive collection of art in Central Texas. The Blanton’s permanent collection is recognized for its European paintings, prints and drawings, and modern and contemporary American and Latin American art. Also available for viewing are Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin, a chapel-like environment of color, form, and light; several immersive art installations in the museum’s recently transformed outdoor plaza; and The Floating World, a temporary exhibition of Edo period Japanese prints and painted scrolls.
We will carpool from the WHPC upper parking lot. Plan to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for a 9:45 a.m. departure.
